How verification works

What the Verified badge covers and how reviews work.

Unverified profiles

Providers can publish a profile as soon as they sign in with their email and complete the basics. Those profiles are public immediately and labelled Unverified: the details were provided by the provider and haven't been reviewed by ATM Atlas. Signing in with an email code proves control of that email address only—it never creates a Verified badge.

What "Verified" means

A member of the ATM Atlas team reviewed the profile's identity and contact details—for example, that the business or person is who the profile says, and that the listed phone, email or website reach them. Each badge shows the date and exactly what was checked.

Verification doesn't cover technical skill, workmanship, licensing, background screening, insurance, pricing, availability or any guarantee of service. Always confirm what you need directly with the provider.

Buildout exception

ATMPlacements.com received an owner-authorized verification exception during the directory buildout. Its profile discloses that standard verification checks were not performed. Other businesses follow the review process described above.

When a badge changes

  • If a provider changes the name, business type, phone, email or website that were checked, the badge is removed until those details are reviewed again. Photo and description edits don't affect it.
  • ATM Atlas can revoke a badge at any time, for example after a credible report.
  • If other credentials are ever checked, each will be shown separately rather than widening what an existing badge means.

Requesting a review

Review is free. Providers can request it from their dashboard. Publishing never requires uploading identity documents.
